What is a Simple Weekly Report?
Simple Weekly Report is a semi-customizable automated report designed to help you monitor your main Goals and Waterfalls progress over time.
Key Highlights of the Simple Weekly Report:
- Reports are automatically sent to you every Monday, eliminating the need to manually generate new reports each week. Simply ensure that the feature is activated. If you no longer require reports, you can easily disable this feature.
- Each report includes data for the week preceding the sending date (presented in a report as the "Current period"), comparing it with the week prior (the "Comparison period"). This allows you to monitor changes in your Goals and Waterfalls and be prepared to respond to unexpected events, such as a drop in conversions or a rapid increase in Rage clicks.
- Every report presents data from your selected Goals and Waterfalls. You can add as many Goals and Waterfalls to a report as needed, enabling you to focus on the data crucial to your business.
- The metrics for Goals and Waterfalls presented in the report cannot be changed. But don't worry – we have carefully chosen the most important metrics and presented them clearly and understandably, making it easy for you to read reports and identify anomalies in them.
- Each report includes links to your chosen Goals and Waterfalls. If you observe any changes or anomalies that raise concerns, you can quickly navigate to your CUX project and investigate the reasons behind them.
- You can have one report per project. We know how tempting can be an idea to create multiple reports for every possible occasion - but at the same time, we know how overwhelming the data overload can be. We want to encourage you to try our “less is more” approach and create one well-thought-out report that you will actually use.
How to manage a Simple Weekly Report?
How to create a report
The first Simple Weekly Report will be created automatically after you create a new project and publish the CUX snippet on your website. By default, it will select the first goal you’ve created during project onboarding. It will also automatically add to the report the Waterfall that you selected to be shown on a dashboard.
Where to find Simple Weekly Report feature page in CUX
You can find your Simple Weekly Report page in your project Settings >> Simple Weekly Report. On this page, you will find:
- The state of your report (you will receive reports if the toggle button Active is on)
- Report main settings (sending day and subscribers)
- Which Goals and/or Waterfalls are currently added to a report
How to change the list of report subscribers
By default, the report will be sent to an email of your CUX organization admin. You can find the information about your organization administrator on your project Settings >> Details page.
Please note that the option to edit the list of report subscribers isn't currently available. We're looking forward to bringing you this feature in an upcoming update!
How to switch off the active report
If you don’t want to receive Simple Weekly Reports you can easily switch it off. There are two ways how you can do it:
- Switch the “Active” toggle button into the off position. This action will pause the report sending but will preserve all your settings. So if you switch the toggle on again - it will keep all Goals and Waterfalls added before.
- Remove all Goals and Waterfalls from the report. If there is no Goal or Wateerfall added to the report, the toggle button “Active” will automatically switch off. Turning the report back on will set it on your main Goal and Waterfall (those selected to be shown on a Dashboard), but won’t restore removed Goals and Waterfalls. Please note that if you have no Goal selected to be shown on a dashboard - you won’t be able to activate the report in this scenario. In this case, add a Goal to a Dashboard first or use another option of adding Goals and Waterfalls to a report described below.
Adding or removing Goals/Waterfalls to a report
Only the organization's administrator can add or remove Goals and Waterfalls from a Simple Weekly Report. You can find the information about your organization administrator on your project Settings >> Details page.
To add Goals or Waterfalls to a report:
- Open your Goals or Waterfalls page.
- Find the Goal or Waterfall you want to add to your Simple Weekly Report.
- Open its contextual menu (“Manage” button on a Waterfall, three dots icon on a Goal) and select a menu option “Add to Weekly Report”.
Please note that if your report is currently inactive (the toggle button is switched off) - adding Goal or Waterfall to a report will switch it on again.
To remove Goals or Waterfalls from a report:
- Go to your Goals or Waterfalls page.
- Find the Goal or Waterfall that was added to your Simple Weekly Report - they are marked with a report page icon. Open its contextual menu (“Manage” button on a Waterfall, three dots icon on a Goal) and select a menu option “Remove from Weekly Report”.

You can also remove Goals or Waterfalls from the level of Simple Weekly Report settings page. To do so:

- Find the Goal or Waterfall you want to remove from a report.
- Click the Remove button.
- Confirm the action by clicking “Yes, remove” on a confirmation pop-up.
What data will I see in a report?
We’ve selected the most important metrics for the report that will allow you to read and interpret your Goals and Waterfalls, track the progress, see changes in data, and react to them appropriately.
The report will be sent to you every Monday as a PDF file. Here’s what you can find in a report’s file:

- Goal. Name of the Goal added to a report.
- Goal’s metrics.
- Visits that reached the Goal
- Average number of visits to achieve the goal - the average number of visits a user makes before completing the selected goal
- Average visit time - time duration of the visits that achieved the goal
- Average engagement - the percentage of engagement time in relation to the average visit duration
- Links. Links to Goal pages and list of visits that reached the Goal.
- Goal’s Experience metrics. All Experience Metrics in the context of the selected Goal.
- Waterfall. Name of the Waterfall added to a report.
- Waterfall data. Waterfall data in the report is presented in a table view. Shows the number of visits on each step, its percentage and change, and each step's drop-off percentage and change.
- Link. Link to a selected waterfall.
